We strive to use only the highest quality ingredients in our soaps. Most of our soaps are made with lard, with the exception of our specialty soaps, many of which are vegan.
We use lard, olive oil, coconut oil, and castor oil in our soaps. Some of our specialty soaps may contain cocoa or shea butter, rice bran oil, sweet almond oil, or avocado oil.
We choose to use lard in our soaps, as opposed to its vegetable counterpart, palm oil. Palm deforestation is a global issue, and we choose not to support it. Instead, we use lard to contribute a luxurious creamy lather to our soaps
Commonly called lye, sodium hydroxide is what chemically reacts with the oils to make soap. Once this reaction is complete (about 24 hours after mixing), there is no lye remaining in the soap.
Soap cannot be made without lye. Most commercial "soaps" utilize foaming detergents and cannot be called true soaps.
We use a variety of liquids in our soaps including water, tea, beer, milks, and purees. These liquids contribute creamy lather and extra bubbles.
Additives such as pumice, apricot seeds, cornmeal, dried orange peel, and ground oatmeal add grit, helping you get clean.
Clays and calendula petals add visual interest and a gentle texture.
We use only the finest fragrance oils in our soaps. We test every fragrance before adding it to our line to ensure quality, and staying power. Our scents are proven to withstand the test of time!
Essential oil soaps are in the works and will be added at a later date.
